Corporate Tax Accountant Apply
The Corporate Tax Accountant will be responsible for managing and preparing the companys tax filings, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. This role will also involve tax planning, research, and analysis to minimize tax liabilities and support business decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tax Compliance: Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns, including income, sales, use, property, and other business taxes.
- Tax Planning: Assist in developing tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and support financial planning and business operations.
- Tax Research: Conduct research on various tax issues, including new tax laws and regulations, and their impact on the company.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual tax provisions and financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Audit Support: Provide support during tax audits and correspond with tax authorities to resolve issues and inquiries.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in tax reporting and compliance.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and organized records of all tax filings and related documentation.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure comprehensive tax compliance and support business objectives.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in corporate tax accounting, preferably in a public accounting firm or a corporate tax department.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in tax preparation softwar, ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax regulations and GAAP.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax issues to non-tax professionals.
- Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
