About LaPorte Juvenile Correctional Facility:
As a part of the Indiana Department of Correction, the LaPorte Juvenile Correctional Facility (LPJCF) promotes public safety by providing meaningful, effective opportunities for successful re-entry. We strive to model best Correctional practices, return productive citizens to our communities, and inspire a culture of accountability, integrity and professionalism. The LaPorte Juvenile Correctional Facility is an intake and multi-level security facility for juvenile females. LaPorte Juvenile Correctional Facility is located in LaPorte, Indiana. LaPorte Juvenile Correctional Facility was established in 2017 by converting an existing juvenile facility (Camp Summit Boot Camp) into a female juvenile facility. It is the only female juvenile facility in Indiana. LaPorte Juvenile also serves as the intake facility for all female juveniles committed to the Indiana Department of Correction.
Role Overview:
As a Correctional Officer at the LaPorte Juvenile Correctional Facility, you will be responsible for working as a part of a team in a multi-level security Indiana Department of Correction (IDOC) facility for juvenile females. During a typical 12 hour shift, you will maintain the security of the unit as well as the safety of staff and incarcerated individuals, while ensuring daily activities and programs proceed on schedule. Correctional Officers will work 7 total shifts, including 1 weekend during the 14 day pay period.
Salary: This position pays at $22/hour.
