Franklin International, a leading manufacturer of adhesives, coatings, and sealants, is currently seeking a Cost Accountant. This position is responsible for cost accounting tasks related to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of Franklin's standard cost system, product costing, inventory transactions, valuation, and physical inventory, manufacturing costs, and cost variances. Supports the month-end close process and provides routine and on-demand reporting, reconciling, and analysis. Job Responsibilities Maintain the standard cost system: ensure daily tasks and checks that confirm the system is working correctly, identify setup issues, monitor exceptions indicating inventory and product cost issues. Product Costing: cost new products correctly and efficiently, provide cost estimates, collaborate with relevant departments, and participate in quarterly standard cost rollups. Inventory Transactions, Valuation, and Physical Inventory: review inventory transactions, ensure transactional integrity, assist with inventory reserve and monitor unsellable inventory, participate in year-end physical inventory. Manufacturing Costs: ensure manufacturing expenses are recorded correctly, assist with corrections, provide analysis and reporting, assist with cost models to roll expenses into product costs. Cost Variances: review variances (PPV, cycle counts, shop orders, etc.), summarize trends, identify problem items/transactions, support corrections and process improvement. Support Month-end Close: support costing accounting related month-end close activities including journal entries, reconciliations, and database loads. Reporting, Reconciling, and Analysis: support various departments and processes with routine and on-demand reporting and analysis. Targeted Skills and Knowledge Professional status demonstrated by a four-year business degree or a two-year degree with equivalent experience. Experience with MS Office Suite and strong Excel skills. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills, as well as good written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to meet tight deadlines, ensure accuracy, and collaborate effectively. Franklin International is an equal opportunity employer.
