Cost Accountant – Manufacturing Operations

Robert Half is seeking a Cost Accountant to join a dynamic team at a U.S.-based manufacturing plant. This vital role bridges finance and operations, providing critical insights into manufacturing costs, margins, inventory, and variances related to plant activities. If you're detail-oriented, analytical, and passionate about driving process improvements, you could be the perfect fit!


As a Cost Accountant, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring accurate cost tracking and reporting throughout the manufacturing process. Essential functions include:

  • Analysis & Reporting: Prepare and analyze manufacturing variances, scrap, product returns, and margins across business units.
  • Costing Models: Review and improve standard costing, job costing models, and reserve methodologies for greater standardization and efficiency.
  • Profitability Studies: Conduct research and analytical studies to drive cost savings and identify profitability opportunities.
  • Process Coordination: Collaborate across departments to streamline operations and align cost-saving goals.
  • ERP Management: Ensure inventory and cost accuracy within ERP systems for new and existing parts.
  • Audit Assistance: Support year-end audit and tax reporting requirements.
  • Cycle Counts & Physical Inventory: Direct and oversee periodic cycle counts and annual physical inventories.
  • Operational Excellence: Continuously identify and implement best practices to improve processes and efficiency.

•Bachelor's degree in Accounting required. CPA or CMA certification preferred

•3+ years experience in manufacturing cost accounting.

•Experience working with ERP systems and strong Microsoft Excel
