Cost Accounting Manager Apply
seeking a Cost Accounting Manager for our Bensenville, IL location. This position will lead the cost and inventory accounting functions (including standard costing, analysis and project work). The Cost Accounting Manager will perform cost studies, which apply the principles of cost accounting to obtain detailed cost information not supplied by general accounting systems.
This is a highly visible position with growth opportunities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Plan, study and collect data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material, direct labor, outsourced operations and fixed and variable overhead. Analyzes data obtained and record results.
Analyzes changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services provided, to determine effects on costs. Analyzes actual manufacturing costs and prepares periodic report comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
Reviews product quotes from suppliers for reasonableness. This includes both domestic and internationally supplied parts.
Provides management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services. Continually monitors adequacy of the cost accounting system with the objective of continuous improvement.
Responsible for compilation of parts and manufacturing costs, inventory accountability, verification of actual costs and computation of variances. Prepare cost estimates of new or special products establishing standard costs.
Analysis of LIFO cost calculations and FIFO variance capitalization.
Accumulate and report product costs and investigate reasons for variances. Prepare necessary cost reports.
Assists in preparation of month-end closing and external annual audit requests.
Responsible for the accuracy and integrity of inventory valuation. This includes reviewing daily cycle counts and properly cost of components and raw materials.
Responsible for standard and current cost table management.
Other responsibilities and tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in Accounting or related field
- 3-7 years of Accounting experience
- Cost estimates for new product and specials
- Must possess good organizational and interpersonal skills
- Must have good oral and written communication skills
- Strong Excel and BI skills
- Ability to work independently, to meet deadlines, to prepare and update various governmental and internal reports
- Possess interest in developing and learning new computer skills including an interest in working on an ERP conversion team.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with ERP implementations
Epicor, Kinetic or Acumatica experience
Cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
