Cost Analyst role in Waynesboro GA onsite
Summary of Services:
- Provides cost expertise for the project teams for assigned portfolio in Energy or Power industry.
- Ensure projections are updated as well as ensuring costs are charged correctly.
- Initiates work orders for maintaining forecasts and budgets for projects and provides unit cost estimates to financial for newly added projects.
- Develop variance analysis monthly comparing current month actuals to both previous month’s forecast and baseline budget.
- Prepare monthly reports for budget owners including baseline budget, actual costs, estimate at completion, forecast variance and analysis of abnormal/unexpected variances.
- Set up meetings and review monthly reports with budget owner (project manager).
- Maintain traceable records of baseline, budget, forecasts, and actual costs
- Perform independent detailed reviews of assigned projects ETC and EAC to ensure all inputs have been given and assess the overall financial health of the project.
- Prepare monthly accruals and correcting journal entries as necessary for assigned projects
- Works with Unifier implementation team as needed for the deployment of the program
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
· Bachelor’s degree or higher in a business-related field is preferred.
· Accounting degree and/or 5-10 years of experience in job cost accounting in an operating power plant facility or construction company
Experience
· Above average MS Excel skills
· Experience with contractor load boards, detailed estimates
· Ability to be self-directed and hold others accountable to provided information and meeting deadlines
· Minimum 5-10 years previous cost analyst, job cost accountant, or relatable work experience required Preferrable in Power Industry
· Excellent oral and written skills
· Cost control experience with a power utility firm, construction firm, or industrial plant required.
