WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking to fill the position of the County Manager to provide professional leadership, assistance, and recommendation on County issues to the Board of County Commissioners, to support to non-elected and elected departments to optimize efficiency for maximum public benefit, and oversee ethical, open, and transparent County initiatives.
Here are experiences and skills we are looking for:
· Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration or other related field preferred; Master’s degree in public administration, business administration or another related field strongly preferred;
· Experience in working effectively with minimal supervision, under pressure, within time constraints and using good public relations skills with elected officials, staff and the public is required;
· Minimum of four (4) years’ experience as a chief administrative officer or department head in county and/or city government is preferred;
· Prior experience with managing or assisting in the operations management of a large organization is preferred;
· Experience working with an Idaho county or city of comparable size and complexity is preferred;
· Experience in handling and professionally communicating confidential and sensitive information;
· Must be able to pass a criminal history background check;
· Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Idaho Driver’s License.
THE OPPORTUNITY: County Manager
The County Manager is a critical position that provides leadership to the County. Here are a few opportunities waiting for you:
· Under the direction of the Board oversee, organize, and improve County operations; recommend executive and administrative actions to the Board;
· Advise the Board on a variety of County issues and assists in the development of County policies, procedures, and practices; conduct research and analysis on assigned topics and provide recommendations to the Board;
· Coordinate Board initiatives to create ethical, open, and transparent government operations;
· Communicate and coordinate with elected officials, department heads and employees on behalf of the Board to ensure efficient and effective execution and delivery of County services and programs, many of which may be complex and/or controversial; keeps the Commissioners regularly and fully informed of operational and administrative matters;
· Assist the County Clerk with Board agenda planning and management;
· Serve as a communications specialist for County needs;
· Serve as the Human Resources liaison between Teton County and the Human Resources Consultant; provides insight and recommendations for County organization structure and positions;
· Serve as the County Risk Manager working closely with ICRMP, civil counsel and human resources on matters of personnel, property liability and potential litigation;
· Provide customer service the Teton County way!
This position reports to the Board of County Commissioners.
