DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a County Casework Supervisor, you will maintain organization and structure to assist casework staff in their job performance duties. The caseworkers you will supervise investigate allegations of physical, sexual, or emotional abuse and neglect or imminent risk of same. This includes providing direct and case management services to abused or neglected children and their families in the home and in out-of-the-home placements in order to ensure the safety, permanency, and well-being of children served. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • This position includes working evenings, weekends, and on-call.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Two years of professional experience in public or private social work and a bachelor's degree with major course work in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and education which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.

Other Requirements:
  • You must meet the PA residency requirement. For more information on ways to meet PA residency requirements, follow the link and click on Residency.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:
  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical exam and a drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
