Roles and Responsibilities:

The Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (EMSO) role is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and reporting on electronic signals. You will work with cutting-edge equipment and technology to advise decision-makers about electromagnetic spectrum conditions. Responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and operating communication systems like radios, telephones, and data networks.  Ensures reliable signal transmission by performing preventative maintenance and troubleshooting technical issues with electronic equipment used for communication on the battlefield.      

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position. All positions located at the Government Customer Site require in-person/on-site attendance due to facility clearance and ISO operating standards.

  • Assisting the Government Customer with keeping their communication lines open for military operations.
  • Conduct EMS collection and analysis using a variety of EMS collection equipment.
  • Monitor, intercept, and identify EMS activity.
  • Perform real-time analysis of collected data to classify signals.
  • Provide detailed reports and recommendations based on collected data.
  • Operate and maintain EMS systems.
  • Collaborate with cross disciplined teams to ensure effective use of EMS operations.
  • Stay updated on the latest waveforms and technology that affect the EMS .
  • Provide guidance and support in the planning and execution communication plans focused on technical signature management.
  • Ensure compliance with all operational procedures and security protocols.
  • Setting up and connecting communication systems in various environments.
  • Regularly inspecting and servicing communication equipment to prevent malfunctions
  • Diagnosing and fixing technical issues with communication systems, including hardware and software problems.
  • Ensures proper use of communication systems and adherence to operational protocols.
  • Will deploy to various locations with MCTSSA units to operation areas to maintain communication systems in challenging environments.
  • Serves as a link between the OFSD Government personnel and the C4I Systems Analysts to ensure that Tier 0-2 support capabilities are maintained at the level required by the Fleet Marine Force. 

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field preferred, but not required
  • Previous experience in Electronic Warfare Signals Collection or a similar role, with military experience in Marine Corps MOS 2621 preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the Electromagnetic Spectrum, Radio Frequency (RF) propagation, frequency ranges of RF bands, and RF modulation.
  • Strong understanding of military and civilian RF waveforms. L3 Harris 3G and 4G HF, SINCGARS, DAMA, IW, ANW2, TSM-X, MUOS, and SATURN just to name a few.
  • Familiarity with EMS platforms, and analysis tools. Experience with Spectrum Guards and Rohde & Schwarz equipment (DF550, ESME, PR-200) ideal.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex signals and data.
  • Experience supporting Marine Corps C4I systems and equipment.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience.
  • Direct participation in real-world operations is required.
  • Willing to work in a 24x7x365 secured environment, demonstrate intuitive problem-solving skills, and allow for flexible scheduling.

  • TRAVEL REQUIRED FOR POSITION - Must be able to obtain or possess a valid US Passport and by physically qualified to support miliary exercises and contingency operations.
