Position Summary

The Engineering Manager will lead AET’s engineering function and is accountable for the quality, accuracy, and timeliness of all engineering output. This role ensures that designs meet customer requirements, are manufacturable, cost‑effective, timely, and comply with applicable codes and standards. The Engineering Manager will work closely with Operations, Project Management, Quality, and Sales to drive strong execution in a custom engineered-to-order environment


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team of mechanical, process, and design engineers.
  • Lead design reviews and ensure compliance with codes, standards, and customer specifications.
  • Strengthen and or develop, implement, and continuously improve engineering standards, procedures, and workflows.
  • Coordinate with Production, Quality, and Procurement to ensure seamless handoff of engineered designs into fabrication and assembly.
  • Partner with Sales and Operations to support technical proposals.


Requirements

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering required.
  • Master’s degree or Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is a plus.

Experience

  • 10+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing or custom fabrication environments.
  • 3+ years leading an engineering or design team in mechanical systems or metal fabrication.
  • Proven track record delivering engineer‑to‑order (ETO) or design‑build projects.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and PDM/PLM systems.
  • Working knowledge of ASME BPVC Section VIII and ASME B31.3, and with the ability to interpret requirements and collaborate with code specialists or third‑party authorities.
  • Experience with vacuum or cryogenic systems, pressure systems, or process equipment.


Leadership & Soft Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and motivate high‑performing technical teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to present complex technical topics to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
