Do not submit candidates living less than 90 miles from facility. ob DescriptionPosition Summary: The Acute Care Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist provides health care services by assisting in diagnosis or treatment. Performs CT procedures and related techniques, producing images for the interpretation by or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Operates a CT scanner to obtain images used in the diagnosis and treatment of patient pathologies. Uses knowledge of imaging techniques and cross-sectional anatomy to create high quality images for interpretation by radiologists and other medical professionals. Modifies technical settings and adjusts scanning parameters to enhance images and minimize unnecessary exposure. Performs routine quality inspections and quality control maintenance on scanner as recommended by the manufacturer and/or organizational policies and procedures.Minimum Qualifications:RequiredGraduate of Committee of Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) accredited Radiology program or equivalentAmerican Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) R.T.(R) & advanced registry in CT, R.T.(CT)American Heart Association BLS requiredTwo (2) years of radiology experience as a registered technologistPreferred1 year of previous CT experience in a trauma center (level I or II)Essential Job Functions:In addition to the essential functions of the job listed below, employees must have on-time completion of all required education as assigned per DNV requirements, Bozeman Health policy, and other registry requirements.Performs CT exams and procedures for NICU, CCU, ED and other hospital departments as requested by the medical staff.Assists the Radiologist and other medical staff during exams and procedures.Performs ancillary duties as required to maintain proper distribution, billing, and archival of exams and procedures.Completes documentation, in designated area, of all information required for proper interpretation, reporting, archiving, and retrieval of exams.Retrieves written orders and related health information to ensure the timely performance and reporting of exams and procedures.Participates in the implementation, monitoring and improvement of the quality indicators as described in the strategic plan.Works independently in a highly complex, acute care inpatient setting.Train and support peers.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesDemonstrates sound judgment, patience, and maintains a professional demeanor at all timesExercises tact, discretion, sensitivity, and maintains confidentialityPerforms essential job functions successfully in a busy and stressful environmentLearns current and new computer applications and office equipment utilized at Bozeman HealthStrong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skillsAnalyzes, organizes, and prioritizes work while meeting multiple deadlinesWorks varied shifts and participates in call rotation as scheduled and/or neededPhysical RequirementsLifting, Pushing, and Pulling: Support 50 pounds of weight (patient, assist with bedside needs, etc.) Lift 50 pounds (pick up a child, transfer a patient, etc.) Carry equipment/supplies. Use upper body strength (CPR, physically restrain patient, etc.)Extended Hours: The role may involve working for extended periods, requiring sitting, walking, or standing for eight or more hours daily.Flexible Schedule: The position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts.On-Call Availability: On-call work may be required to respond to organizational and patient needs promptly.Effective Communication: Proficient in effective communication, both in person and through various technologies.Handling Challenging Situations: The role may involve dealing with upset individuals, requiring the ability to de-escalate situations and work effectively with frustrated patients or families.Repetitive Tasks: Ability to perform repetitive tasks as needed to fulfill job responsibilities.
