General DescriptionProvides a variety of technical procedures requiring the use of ionizing radiation. This position requires independent judgment and technical skills to produce the best possible radiography for the purpose of diagnosis and treatment.ResponsibilityPerforming CT and X-Ray examinations. Produces radiographs using proper technical factors and evaluates each film for proper exposure and positioning, schedules exams and properly instructs patients on preparations for exams and sets up and organizes rooms for any radiographic procedures. AccountabilityThe Imaging/Radiologic Technologist reports directly to the Imaging Services Manager. Special DemandsMental: Astute communication skills with employees, physicians, visitors, patients/families and administration. Ability to adjust to job situations that involve many different people and projects, requiring some independent action and judgment. Ability to problem solve and deal with diverse personalities. Ability to work alone, make independent decisions, and adapt to emergency situations. Maintain the confidentiality of patient information. Communicate both orally and in writing with peers, professional staff, and patients. Must be sensitive to the needs of patients and co-workers. Is able to recognize and provide quality service.Physical: Flexibility to work in continually changing conditions. Must have manual dexterity to operate equipment. Ability to lift and move patient with or without assistance and maneuver equipment greater than or equal to 20 pounds. Agility is required for frequent changes in position. Visual and hearing acuity required to receive feedback and information from patients. Periods of stooping, standing, bending, moderate lifting, and generally oriented patient care is included in this position.Qualifications Education: Graduate with ARRT Registry.
