Assistant Director, Instructional Services -CTE
Non-union, at-will position
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Assistant Directors primary responsibilities will encompass working with all St. Clair TEC instructional staff and CTE teachers from the local districts to improve the delivery of classroom instruction, improve student achievement and provide support for program improvement. Additionally, the Assistant Director will provide support as needed to the CTE Principal, including assisting with the day-to-day operations of the building.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Masters Degree in administration required
- Administrative certification required
- Specialization in curriculum development preferred
- Successful teaching experience as a CTE Instructor
- Experience in curriculum development required
- Strong technology skills and ability to integrate into classroom instruction
- Proficient in LMS and SIS systems (Google Classroom and PowerSchool)
- Foundation in instructional practices that create a positive classroom environment and culture, lessons designed with purpose, and effective assessments.
- Proficiency with the 5D+ evaluation system preferred
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify program development needs and make recommendations for improvement
- Assist with the evaluation of staff
- Provide professional development to assigned staff
- Improve instructional delivery of curriculum for each assigned program area
- Provide the necessary strategies to improve teacher delivery of instruction
- Provide building-wide standards and systems for curriculum and data
- Investigate and implement national skills standards for TEC and LEA CTE programs, where available
- Facilitate continuous improvement planning and processes
- Work with the Michigan Department of Education OCTP for curriculum design, direction, and improvement
- Coordinate CIP review with TEC and LEA CTE teachers
RELATED JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the following areas: teacher mentoring, teacher evaluation, post-secondary articulation process, professional development of staff, implementation of online learning, data gathering and interpretation, program evaluation and continuous improvement, and facilitate the purchase of program equipment as needed.
- Support administrative duties as needed including student discipline, safety, and security.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Employment Date: Pending School Board approval
Length of Contract: Full-time, 12-month

Salary: $90,000-$98,000 based on education and experience
