THE POSITION

Do you gain a sense of fulfillment working with your hands and interacting with others? The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is in search of a diligent and reliable Custodial Worker 1 to work for Codorus State Park! If you are interested in contributing to the recreation experience of our park visitors by providing them with a clean and safe environment to enjoy, do not miss this opportunity to join our team!


DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Custodial Worker 1, you will perform routine tasks in the custodial care of park buildings and surrounding grounds at Codorus State Park. You will be responsible for general housekeeping and building maintenance duties, which involve cleaning and restocking restrooms, offices, overnight facilities, the swimming pool area, and other structures. Duties you will be responsible for include, but are not limited to:

  • Cleaning toilets, sinks, showers, floors, and walls
  • Deep cleaning using pressure washers, scrubbers, and other tools
  • Making minor repairs such as replacing light bulbs and tightening fixtures
  • Cutting grass, sweeping paved areas, and picking up trash
  • Maintaining and cleaning vehicles and equipment used throughout the park
  • Painting and staining buildings, signs, and gates

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Seasonal, full-time employment without benefits.
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with 30-minute unpaid lunch.
  • This position performs in a seven (7) day a week operation and will be scheduled to work weekends, evening, and holidays. Specific schedule requirements will be conveyed during the interview process.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
