ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION
Founded in 1965, the Chinese-American Planning Council, Inc. (CPC) aims to promote the social and economic empowerment of Chinese American, immigrant, and low-income communities. Today, CPC is the nation's largest Asian American social services agency and offers more than 50 programs at over 35 sites throughout New York City, including early childhood education, school-age care, youth services, workforce development, community services, and senior services. CPC strives to be the premier social service and leadership development organization. In 2017, CPC launched Advancing Our CommUNITY, its organization-wide strategy to expand services to address persistent needs and emerging trends and to improve leadership skills among staff and community members. In 2022, our core programs and emergency services reached 200,000 people living in all five boroughs and all 51 city council districts. PROGRAM SUMMARY
The Family Child Care Network is a component of the Early Childhood Learning & Wellness Services (ECLW) division at CPC. The goals are to promote childrens holistic development with high-quality learning in safe, healthy home environments; help families access childcare that meets their diverse needs; support staff to understand affiliated child care providers needs, monitor program delivery; and increase the capacity of providers to provide children with a high-quality education through training on childcare regulations and research-supported curricula.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Keep the office(s) and bathrooms clean
- Assist with setting up conference rooms for meetings, training, and presentations
- Keep an inventory of all cleaning supplies and submit purchasing requests after buying supplies when low
- Pick up rubbish, sweep, vacuum, and mop floors
- Respond to repair calls for activities such as replacing a broken light
- Execute minor repairs and maintenance work
- Other duties as requested by Network Director and Deputy Network Director
QUALIFICATIONS
- Able to lift at least 15 pounds
- Time management skills are essential
- Bilingual in English and either Chinese, Spanish, or Korean preferred
- Must meet all applicable federal, state and city requirements to work with children in an early childhood setting
- Willingness to travel between FCC Networks facilities in Sunset Park, Lower East Side, and Flushing, as needed
- Able to work on some Saturdays or evenings as needed
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS OVERVIEW
- $18.41 - $18.41 per hour; 35 hours per week with occasional Saturdays and evenings
