As a Family Dollar Customer Service Representative is responsible for creating a positive shopping experience for customers. This involves a variety of tasks focused on customer interaction and store maintenance.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Customer Interaction:
    • Greeting customers in a friendly and welcoming manner.
    • Providing assistance with finding products and answering questions about the store and merchandise.
    • Processing customer transactions accurately and efficiently using the POS system.
    • Handling customer complaints and concerns in a prompt and efficient manner.
  • Store Operations:
    • Maintaining a clean and organized store environment, including stocking shelves and recovering merchandise.
    • Assisting with unloading merchandise from delivery trucks, organizing stockroom, and transporting merchandise to the sales floor.
    • Monitoring inventory levels and restocking shelves as needed.
    • Ensuring a safe and secure shopping environment by being aware of customer activity. 

Essential Skills and Competencies:

  • Customer Focus: A strong desire to provide excellent customer service.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to maintain a clean and organized store.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to address customer issues and resolve complaints.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 40 lbs regularly, and occasionally up to 55 lbs.
  • Availability: Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. 

Qualifications:

  • Preferably a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in retail or customer service is preferred, but not always required
