Customer Service SpecialistThe Customer Service Specialist serves as the first point of contact for visitors to local PA CareerLink centers, creating a welcoming and supportive environment for job seekers and community members. This role provides guidance during inquiry and enrollment into PA CareerLink services, assists customers with digital and career resource needs, and ensures accurate tracking and documentation. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, highly organized, computer literate, and skilled at communicating effectively with diverse populations.What You'll Do:Greet and assist customers in person, by phone, and via email, ensuring a positive first impression.Direct job seekers to appropriate services, resources, and partner agencies.Support digital intake, resume preparation, job matching, ID.me, and Virtual Propio assistance.Provide basic career services and support the career development process.Maintain and update PA CareerLink activity tracking reports and customer records.Manage the Career Resource Center (CRC) schedule and ensure daily coverage and coordination with partners.Answer incoming calls and route inquiries appropriately.Maintain reports, surveys, and documentation in compliance with program requirements.Distribute and collect customer service surveys as scheduled.Participate in outreach activities and help build strong community partnerships.Attend professional development trainings, meetings, and required events.Support special projects and perform additional duties as assigned.What You'll Bring:Education: Associate's degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, or related field; commitment to obtain a National Family Development Credential within 18 months of hire.Experience: Minimum of one year of customer service experience.Strong interpersonal skills with a customer-centered mindset.Ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain focused with frequent interruptions.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer literacy.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work effectively with diverse populations while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.Requirements:Valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and reliable transportationAct 33, Act 34, FBI/DPW, and NSOR clearances at hireWillingness to travel occasionally and work overtime as neededAbility to handle confidential personally identifiable information (PII)What We Offer:Opportunity to serve as a key connector between job seekers and workforce resources.Professional development and credentialing support.Collaborative, mission-driven team environment.Meaningful impact within the community through workforce development services.About Us:For over 40 years, the Private Industry Council of Westmoreland/Fayette, Inc. has empowered families and communities through education, workforce development, and early childhood programs.
