Customer Technical Services Representative/EngineerCleveland-Cliffs Steel has an immediate opportunity for a Customer Technical Services Representative/Engineer in Northwest Indiana. The Customer Technical Services Representative/Engineer is the primary technical liaison with our customers to resolve claims or quality problems and to ensure that the material supplied meets the customers' requirements. This position is also responsible for assisting customers with their steel use needs.Summary of Responsibilities:Assists customers in using Cleveland-Cliffs productsMakes service calls on assigned customers to investigate and resolve claims or quality problems. Assures that complaints are handled in a fair, timely mannerCoordinates Cleveland-Cliffs actions to respond to steel-related issues with root cause analysisCommunicates detailed customer requirements to Cleveland-Cliffs SteelAssists Quality Control in developing or revising mill routings to meet specific customer requirementsReviews customer quality performance data and provides feedback to Cleveland-Cliffs managementAssists Cleveland-Cliffs Sales in promoting and testing of new or improved productsWorks with customers on quality improvement or cost reduction projectsCoordinates sample and trial activities at assigned customer plantsOther duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications:High School Diploma/GEDFrequent travel including some overnightBasic knowledge of steel mill operations and steel-related defects is requiredRequires excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation) and the ability to relate to all levels of the customers; and Cleveland-Cliffs organizationComputer skills required MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Teams, and SharePointPreferred Qualifications:B.S. in Metallurgical Engineering or Materials Science or equivalent experienceExperience with Carbon and Stainless SteelKnowledge of steel use technology (forming, welding, painting, corrosion)Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. is the largest flat-rolled steel company and the largest iron ore pellet producer in North America.
