Job Title CVM HR Operations Manager Location Raleigh, NC Work Schedule Onsite, Monday - Friday, 8:00 - 5:00 Job Summary The College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) seeks an experienced HR leader to serve as our HR Operations Manager. Reporting to the Assistant Dean of CVM HR, you will manage full‑life‑cycle HR operations, lead a team of HR specialists, and provide strategic HR consultation to support our academic, clinical, and research communities. Core Responsibilities Directly manage and supervise HR Specialists supporting college departments, including classification, compensation, and talent acquisition. Provide day‑to‑day training, strategic consultation, and planning to maximize team effectiveness. Deliver HR operational oversight for all college departments, including 24/7 clinical service areas. Monitor operations and workflow trends to target training opportunities and implement modern tools and resources. Oversee CVM’s HR and personnel file management system, ensuring compliance with federal and state record‑keeping standards. Serve as primary reviewer of all HR actions—classification, compensation, hiring—to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with college and university approval. Oversee the College Reappointment, Promotion, and Tenure (RPT) process and liaise with the Provost’s Office. Coordinate key metrics and reports (e.g., Quarterly Vacancy reports) and ensure accurate monthly additional compensation workflows with finance leadership. Act as a trusted advisor and subject‑matter expert on the full employment lifecycle—hiring, compensation, benefits, separation. Liaise with central university offices, delivering unified solutions that align with university and state policies. Provide strategic guidance on translating complex HR strategies into measurable, results‑driven actions and leading change management initiatives. Recommend, design, and draft forward‑thinking internal HR procedures to improve service delivery, staff motivation, and talent retention. Qualifications Graduation from a four‑year college or university, preferably with coursework applicable to HR management, human relations, or business administration, and four years of directly related program development and personnel management experience. Preferred Qualifications Experience supervising HR personnel, managing workflow allocation, and fostering professional development within a team. Master’s degree in Human Resources Management or related field and active professional HR certification (SHRM or HRCI). Proficiency using HRIS for accurate system entry, complex data querying, and strategic data analysis. Experience leading HR operations, including recruitment, position classification, talent acquisition, and core HR program administration. Deep knowledge of NC State policies and procedures regarding timekeeping, and comprehensive understanding of state and federal labor laws (including FLSA compliance).
