The data, safety, and trust of children, families, and educators will be in your hands.This is a hands-on leadership role with:Real authority — a single point of accountability across the organisationReal visibility — direct reporting to senior leadership and the boardReal purpose — work that underpins safeguarding for young people with unique learning needsWhat you'll be doing Owning cyber security end-to-end across a multi-site school environment Leading incident response and cyber risk management Driving Cyber Essentials compliance and NCSC best practice️ Overseeing Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace security posture Managing MSPs and third-party vendor risk Embedding genuine cyber awareness across non-technical teams Reporting clearly and confidently to senior leadership and the boardWhat we're looking forWe're not hunting for a perfect CV — we're looking for someone sharp, communicative, and motivated by purpose over prestige.Experience & skills:4–6 years in IT and/or Cyber SecurityStrong Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace security knowledgeHands-on experience managing MSPs and third-party vendorsFamiliarity with Cyber Essentials, NCSC, or ISO frameworksThe kind of person you are:A clear, confident communicator who can translate complexity into plain EnglishPragmatic and hands-on — you're as comfortable doing as you are leadingCalm under pressure, especially during incidentsGenuinely motivated by the idea of protecting people, not just systemsDBS-check eligible (essential due to safeguarding responsibilities)What's on offer £50,000 salary + benefits Fully remote, UK-based with occasional travel Funded CPD and ongoing professional development Real autonomy and ownership from day one️ A role with genuine impact — the kind you'll actually feelIf you've been looking for a cyber security role that means something, this might be it.
