We have an opening for a full-time, permanent Cybersecurity Trainer to join our talented, dynamic team in support of a large Federal Government customer.

This position will support the Department of Veterans Affairs by providing technical and programmatic support services to include development, maintenance, enterprise architecture, and administrative engineering support.  

Duties

As a Cybersecurity Trainer supporting Maveris programs, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and informative cybersecurity training programs to a wide audience. Your expertise will empower a workforce to recognize, mitigate, and respond to emerging cyber threats effectively. In this role, a typical day will include: 

  • Training Needs: Perform a Needs Analysis on existing training curriculum. 
  • Curriculum Development: Design and develop comprehensive cybersecurity training programs tailored to various audiences, including technical and non-technical personnel. 
  • Training Material Construction: Create Training Materials using PowerPoint, video software, etc. 
  • Training Delivery: Conduct engaging and interactive training sessions, workshops, and webinars using a variety of instructional methods, such as lectures, work groups, hands-on exercises, and simulations. 
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Develop and administer assessments to measure participant knowledge and skill acquisition, providing constructive feedback to enhance learning outcomes. 
  • Collaboration: Work closely with security teams, IT professionals, and other stakeholders to identify training needs and align training programs with organizational goals. 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree  
  • 5 years of relevant experience 
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, including network security, application security, threat intelligence, incident response, and data privacy
  • Proven experience in delivering effective cybersecurity training programs to diverse audiences
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to adapt to different learning styles and tailor training content accordingly
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in various cybersecurity tools and technologies
  • Relevant cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA) preferred
  • Passion for teaching and a commitment to continuous learning
