Data Analytics and/or Software Development Instructor - ADJUNCT

Green River College is seeking an Adjunct (Part‑Time) Instructor to join our team and teach courses in Data Analytics and/or Software Development. The ideal instructor is passionate about technology, loves teaching, and strives to broaden participation in computing. They inspire and motivate students to learn and reach their full potential. Responsibilities Create an environment where students feel safe and can collaborate effectively with, and learn from, their peers. Share what you are passionate about with your students. Understand the challenges faced by underrepresented groups and work proactively to address them. Contribute to a dynamic and committed faculty and staff team by sharing ideas, innovations, and successes. Take feedback from students and peers as an opportunity to learn and grow as an instructor. Courses Offered Introductory to intermediate web development courses (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP) Introductory to intermediate programming courses (Python, Java) Introductory data analytics courses (Python, SQL) Courses on modern software frameworks (Spring Boot, ASP.NET) Project‑based learning courses, such as capstone courses A technical career preparation course Minimum Qualifications Have a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution. Have knowledge or proficiency in the areas you would like to teach (HTML/CSS, JavaScript, PHP, Python, Java, SQL, C#, technical career search). Have knowledge of the underrepresentation of women and marginalized groups in computing education and the tech industry. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in information technology, computer science, data science, software engineering, or related field. Teaching or training experience in hands‑on learning environments. Team leadership experience on a technical team. Experience practicing inclusive leadership and fostering an inclusive culture. Three years of relevant work experience in the past five years. At this time, Green River College is not sponsoring for H1‑B visas. All employment offers are subject to background checks.
