At least 7 years of experience writing complex SQL, PL/SQL queries.

At least 5 years of experience working with users in requirements gathering, developing and implementing analytics solutions and developing documentation.

At least 5 years of development experience withTableau Desktop.

Experience with Python

2 or more years of experience working in higher education.

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Director, the incumbent is responsible for the analysis, design, implementation, documentation, and maintenance of analytics solutions, data extractions and processing to support mission-critical analyses, reports, visualizations and dashboards that drive key business decisions. They will be involved in the development of server / OS / desktop / mobile applications and services including researching, designing, developing specifications for designing, writing, modifying, testing, debugging, troubleshooting and maintaining source code. Also having direct or related involvement in designing related databases, user interfaces, integration to other systems / applications, content or multimedia processes. Work includes analysis and design to post-production processes, quality assurance, maintenance and documentation.

Duties

Directs the migration of analytics from one platform to another, code conversion, program documentation, creation of performance and integration testing processes. Develops and manage reporting and analytics standards including source code control techniques and configuration management design and changes based on best practices while conforming to programming security practices, industry practices, community standards and departmental policies and procedures. Serve as technical lead for reporting and analytic development for multiple development projects of moderate to broad scope.

Ensures proper configuration of production and non-production reporting and analytic environments, co-ordinates and manages updates and patches to keep software platforms current, and provides on-going production support. Contributes to end-user training and materials. Conducts training sessions as necessary. May lead a team of reporting and analytic development professionals.

Required

At least 7 years of experience writing complex SQL, PL/SQL queries.

At least 5 years of experience working with users in requirements gathering, developing and implementing analytics solutions and developing documentation.

At least 5 years of development experience with at least one of the following technologies: Tableau Desktop, IBM Cognos.

At least 5 years of Tableau Server management.

Experience with Python, R or similar data analysis tool.

Experience with Atlassian JIRA for requirements management and bug tracking.

Experience with visual analytics design.

Experience with text analytics.

2 or more years of experience working in higher education.

Solid understanding of database, data warehousing and ETL/ELT concepts.

Has excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Strong analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently as well as within a team.

Preferred

Experience with machine learning and artificial intelligence.

Familiarity with UCOP and IRAP policies, procedures, data systems and IT infrastructure.

Advanced degree in related field.
