Data Architect – Data Modeling & Governance:For one of our globally leading tech clients we are urgently looking for an experienced Data Architect – Data Modeling & Governance for a long contract based in Amsterdam.Its paying well and my client can interview asap!Key Responsibilities:Data Modeling & ArchitectureLead the development of conceptual, logical, and physical data models aligned with enterprise architecture standards.Define and enforce data modeling conventions, naming standards, and versioning practices.Identify and document domain boundaries, core entities, master data, reference data structures, and authoritative systems across subject areas.Create model-to-contract mappings for data products, APIs, and Operational Data Store (ODS) tables.Design scalable physical data models optimized for cloud data platforms, particularly BigQuery.Data Governance & Metadata ManagementCollaborate with Data Owners and Data Stewards to define and approve data definitions, business rules, and change management processes.Participate in data governance forums and review boards to ensure alignment with enterprise standards.Maintain and improve data glossary completeness and metadata quality using cataloging tools such as Dataplex and Data Catalog.Ensure data lineage capture and documentation for enterprise datasets and data products.Data Integration & Data Mesh EnablementSupport the implementation of data products and domain-driven data architecture within a Data Mesh environment.Work closely with Data Quality teams and governance councils to align models with quality standards and policies.Rationalize multiple domain perspectives into a unified canonical data model.Privacy, Security & ComplianceApply privacy-by-design principles in data modeling and architecture.Document data masking and pseudonymization rules for sensitive data elements.Ensure data structures comply with enterprise data protection and governance policies.Required Skills & Experience:Core Technical SkillsStrong expertise in Data Modeling and Data Semantics.Hands-on experience in conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling.Experience with ER modeling and dimensional modeling techniques.Ability to design production-grade physical data models on cloud platforms (GCP preferred).Experience designing data models optimized for BigQuery.Data Governance & MetadataExperience with data governance frameworks, glossary management, and lineage documentation.Hands-on knowledge of Dataplex and Data Catalog or similar metadata management tools.Strong understanding of data stewardship and governance workflows.Tools & TechnologiesData modeling tools such as Sparx Enterprise Architect or similar tools.Cloud data platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP).Metadata and catalog tools supporting lineage and governance.Domain KnowledgeFamiliarity with aviation industry data, including:Crew and flight rostersScheduling systemsOperational performance KPIsIf this is you, then please do not delay in applying!
