Datacenter OperatorRole OverviewThe Datacenter Operator supports the Datacenter Operations Manager and works as part of the Breda-based team responsible for maintaining IT infrastructure across the European region. The role focuses on operational support, hardware installation, incident handling, and coordination with internal teams and external suppliers.Key ResponsibilitiesMonitor ticket queues and handle incoming service requests.Install and configure new systems, including labelling, testing, and documentation.Perform patching activities on hardware and systems.Troubleshoot cabling and physical infrastructure issues.Handle and coordinate remote hands requests.Monitor environmental systems and complete follow-up actions.Coordinate work permits and supervise supplier activities.Support small project tasks and participate in larger project work.Follow ITSM processes (change, incident).Conduct regular visual inspections and maintain tidy data center spaces.Skills & ExperienceTechnical education (MBO or similar).Minimum 3 years’ experience in datacenter, hosting, or telecom environments.Knowledge of IT infrastructure, server hardware, switches, firewalls, and cabling standards.Understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP).Basic knowledge of Windows or Linux servers (plus).Familiarity with standards like BICSI or ASHRAE (plus).Strong documentation skills and ability to plan and execute tasks independently.Personal AttributesTeam player with strong communication skills.Service-oriented and flexible (“no 9 to 5” mindset).Able to work weekends occasionally (approx. once every two months).Stress-resistant, reliable, and comfortable in a governed/controlled environment.Fluent in spoken and written English.Capable of physical tasks in a datacenter setting.
