Job Overview Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Data Center Structural Engineer to join its design team in Herndon, Virginia. AWS designs, builds, and operates data centers around the world and is a leader in cloud‑computing infrastructure. The Structural Engineer will be part of the design team responsible for creating resilient, cost‑effective data center facilities that achieve world‑class uptime and meet growing demand. Responsibilities Design resilient, cost‑effective data center structures. Provide technical guidance to team members. Review milestone drawings by consultants. Solve large‑scale implementation issues. Ensure compliance with structural design requirements for data center facilities. Basic Qualifications 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering experience in mission‑critical facilities (e.g., data centers, power generation, or oil and gas). 4+ years of commissioning experience. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel). Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods for data center equipment and facilities. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Structural Engineering. US Citizenship required. Preferred Qualifications Professional Engineer (PE) license. Experience with building codes and regulations for your region. Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and deployment or mass production. Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.
