Job ID: 10378506 | Amazon Data Services, Inc. Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking Data Center Technicians to support our customers in multiple locations. This position requires reporting to a site location. The role ensures overall availability and reliability of data center operations through hardware and network diagnostics, repairs, and participation in an on‑call rotation. Key Responsibilities Work to meet SLA’s against assigned trouble tickets via a directed workflow. Serve as the first line touch point for hardware troubleshooting and technical issues. Perform regular server hardware repairs (drives, motherboards, etc.). Carry out routine network, server hardware, and OS related repairs. Work with cross‑functional teams to complete routine tasks. Adhere to security and safety best practices in the data center. Participate in team meetings for metric analysis and daily/weekly goal achievement. Identify and help create documentation for global use. Identify and help create process improvements relevant to the data center environment. Perform server upgrades, rebuilds, and scheduled work as required. Interact with third‑party vendors and contractors. Contribute to the development of other team members. Physical Requirements Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, and participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds. Work in an environment that operates 24/7 and participate in on‑call rotation with after‑hours support as needed. Some regional travel may be required. A Day in the Life Take ownership of technical issues brought by the customer base, engaging other teams when needed to drive resolution. Show strong aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving. Solve problems at the root and step back to understand the broader context. Maintain service level agreements through proactive issue detection and reporting. Act in the absence of direction or support. Improve effectiveness through process innovation. Basic Qualifications 1+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience. 1+ years of computer networking experience. High school or equivalent diploma. Preferred Qualifications Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
