Overview
AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) drives revenue, adoption, and growth across small‑ and mid‑market accounts to enterprise‑level customers, including public sector. The AWS Global Support team provides world‑class support for customers building mission‑critical applications on AWS.
As a Data Engineer at AWS, you will be working in a large, complex data warehousing environment, integrating heterogeneous data sources with the AWS Marketing Data Warehouse – Jarvis, and building efficient, scalable data solutions that support analytic and reporting needs.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, and support a platform providing ad‑hoc access to large datasets.
Extract, transform, and load data from a wide variety of sources using SQL.
Build robust and scalable data integration (ETL) pipelines using SQL, Python, and AWS services such as Data Pipelines and Glue.
Implement data structures following best practices in data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and SQL/Redshift.
Interface with business customers, gather requirements, and deliver complete reporting solutions.
Build and deliver high‑quality datasets to support business analysts and customer reporting needs.
Continuously improve ongoing reporting and analysis processes, automating or simplifying self‑service support for customers.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
3+ years of data engineering experience
2+ years of developing and operating large‑scale data structures for business intelligence analytics using ETL/ELT processes
2+ years of developing and operating large‑scale data structures for business intelligence analytics using OLAP technologies
2+ years of developing and operating large‑scale data structures for business intelligence analytics using data modeling
2+ years of developing and operating large‑scale data structures for business intelligence analytics using SQL
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with AWS technologies such as Redshift, S3, Glue, EMR, Kinesis, Firehose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions
Experience with non‑relational databases or data stores (object storage, document or key‑value stores, graph databases, column‑family databases)
Benefits and Compensation
Base salary range: USD 132,100 – 178,800 annually (location: Seattle, WA, USA). Your total compensation will include sign‑on payments, restricted stock units (RSUs), and comprehensive benefits such as medical, dental, vision, prescription coverage, 401(k) matching, paid time off, parental leave, and more.
