Job Description:

As a Data Governance Analyst at Augmentjobs, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and security of our data assets. You will collaborate with various departments to develop, implement, and enforce data governance policies and procedures. Your role will involve data quality management, compliance, and strategic planning to maintain high standards in data management.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Data Governance Framework:

    • Develop and implement data governance policies, procedures, and standards.

    • Establish data stewardship roles and responsibilities across the organization.

    • Ensure alignment of data governance practices with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.

  2. Data Quality Management:

    • Monitor and analyze data quality metrics and trends.

    • Identify and address data quality issues and discrepancies.

    • Collaborate with data owners to implement data cleansing and improvement initiatives.

  3. Compliance and Security:

    • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).

    • Work with IT and security teams to safeguard sensitive data and manage access controls.

    • Conduct data audits and prepare compliance reports.

  4. Stakeholder Collaboration:

    • Collaborate with business units to understand data requirements and challenges.

    • Provide guidance and training on data governance best practices.

    • Facilitate cross-functional meetings to address data-related issues and initiatives.

  5. Reporting and Documentation:

    • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of data governance processes.

    • Prepare and present reports on data governance metrics, improvements, and issues.

    • Track and report on the effectiveness of data governance initiatives.

  6. Continuous Improvement:

    • Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies in data governance.

    • Recommend and implement enhancements to data governance practices and tools.

    • Drive continuous improvement in data management processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Educational Background:

    • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.

  2. Experience:

    • 2 to 5 years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related field.

    • Experience with data governance tools and technologies.

  3. Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in data governance frameworks and best practices.

    • Knowledge of data quality tools and techniques.

    • Familiarity with data protection regulations and compliance requirements.

    • Experience with SQL and data analysis tools.

  4. Analytical Skills:

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

    • Ability to assess data quality and implement corrective actions.

    • Attention to detail and accuracy in data management.

  5. Communication Skills:
