Data Governance Analyst Apply
Data Retrieval and Compilation:
- Coordinate with relevant departments or personnel to retrieve requested data and compile necessary
- documents for disclosure.
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of information provided in response to requests.
- Communication and Follow-up:
- As needed, communicate with requesters to clarify requests, provide updates on processing status, and
- coordinate delivery of requested information.
Policy Development and Compliance:
- Collaborate with the Director of Data Governance to develop and revise policies, Standard Operating Procedures
- (SOPs), and guidelines related to data management and governance.
- Ensure that policies align with federal and state data laws, regulations, and organizational objectives.
- Monitor and interpret federal and state data protection laws, regulations (such as HIPAA), and industry standards.
- Develop training materials and conduct sessions to educate agency staff on data governance policies, procedures,
- and regulatory requirements.
- Foster a culture of compliance and data stewardship across the organization.
- Data Management and Systems Development:
- Collaborate with the Director of Data Governance in developing and designing data management applications and
- systems. Aim to improve the agency's data capabilities for public health purposes.
- Provide general support to the agency in its projects funded under the CDC Public Health Infrastructure Grant (PHIG),
- specifically under Strategy A3: Data Modernization. Projects include:
- Cataloging and organization of agency data resources with the ultimate goal of creating a public facing agency-wide
- data catalog,
- Assisting with the selection and implementation of an updated process for managing external requests for data and
- public records
- Supporting the creation and implementation of project timelines
- Consistent and effective communication with agency staff supporting the projects, and maintaining focus on project
- goals and meeting deadlines
- Assist with the collecting, organizing and leveraging large amounts of data across multiple subject matters to enable
- more accessible utilization and analysis of the data using data lakes, warehouses, lakehouses, catalogs, etc.
Preferred :
Working knowledge of laws, regulations and standards governing the management of sensitive data (e.g., HIPAA,
HITECH, NIST Standards).
