Job Description:
- Provide data links and networking interoperability engineering, consultation, and support to design, develop, manufacture, integrate, test, and deploy subsystems components for air-to-air and air-to-ground communications. Support shall extend to design, development, integration and testing of data link messaging such as J-Series, K-Series, and VMF messages in accordance with MIL-STDs -6016 and -6017. Additionally, such support shall also include development and sustainment of Network Architectures as well as the processes required to obtain Air Force Systems Interoperability Testing (AFSIT) and Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) certifications.
- Provide advisory assistance and draft documentation support to conduct reviews and studies, document performance requirements, and support modifications affecting the flight mechanics and for system level integration.
- Assist the Government by providing knowledge and guidance and producing artifacts to support systems integration; OSS&E; airworthiness certification per the latest version of MIL-HDBK-516; safety per MIL-STD-882; and AFI 63-1201 Life Cycle Systems Engineering.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from a university with an Electrical Engineering program that is ABET accredited.
- 12 years of engineering experience in a relevant functional area with a minimum of 6 of those years working in the specialty task areas of systems, flight systems, avionics, software or test for the DoD OR a Master's Degree in an engineering field preferred) and greater than 12 years of engineering experience in a relevant functional area with a minimum of 6 of those years working in the specialty task areas of systems, flight systems, avionics, software or test for the DoD.
- Must have an Active DoD Secret Clearance.
- Other professional engineering degrees (ABET accredited) are acceptable with a minimum of 8 years of the 12 years minimum engineering experience requirement in the specialty task areas of avionics, software or test for the DoD.
