JOB TITLE: Data Platform Support Engineer

Summary:

• Lead and support load, performance, and regression testing efforts

• Perform backups, restores, and administrative tasks within IBM Cloud Pak for Data

Requirements:

• Minimum 10 years of IT systems experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related STEM discipline

• Proven ability to collaborate with stakeholders, architects, and vendors to resolve complex issues in large-scale enterprise applications (IBM Cloud Pak for Data)

• Experience installing, configuring, operating, and supporting enterprise-class applications

• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift based deployments

• Strong understanding of IBM Cloud Pak for Data (CP4D) architecture and security

• Experience operating application landscapes and deployment solutions

• Expertise in application performance tuning, scaling, security, and supporting cloud-based infrastructure

• AWS experience with core services (S3, EC2, IAM, EBS)

• Ability to upgrade and patch application and database components in OpenShift/Kubernetes environments

• Ability to learn, support, and sustain IBM products including Knowledge Catalog, Watson Query, Watson Studio, DataStage, watsonx.data, and Cognos

• Foundational experience with at least one relational database (DB2, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.)

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and GitHub in data environments

• Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, KSH, RHEL scripting)

• Ability to analyze system metrics to diagnose and resolve issues

• Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum/Jira)

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills

• Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
