Verinext is looking for a Data Project Manager with a focus on data & analytics projects that will lead cross-functional teams to deliver complex data-driven solutions, ensuring project timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met. The role requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and project management abilities to oversee the end-to-end delivery of data initiatives such as data warehousing, analytics, machine learning projects, and data governance programs.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Execution: Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and deliverables for data-centric projects such as data integration, ETL pipelines, data migrations, and AI/ML implementations.
- Stakeholder Management: Liaise with key stakeholders, including data engineers, data scientists, business analysts, and leadership teams, to gather requirements, provide updates, and manage expectations.
- Team Leadership: Coordinate and lead cross-functional teams, ensuring that technical and non-technical team members are aligned on project goals.
- Technical Oversight: Collaborate with technical teams to ensure the design and development of data architectures meet project requirements. Work with data architects to provide guidance on data tools, platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Databricks), and technologies.
- Risk Management: Identify project risks, bottlenecks, and dependencies. Develop mitigation strategies and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Budget and Resource Management: Monitor and manage project budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and adherence to financial constraints.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all data projects meet high standards of quality, accuracy, and compliance with relevant regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).
- Reporting and Documentation: Provide regular project status reports to stakeholders, ensuring transparency on progress, challenges, and timelines. Maintain comprehensive project documentation.
- Agile Methodologies: Utilize agile project management methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) for iterative delivery of data projects, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Technical Expertise:
- Strong understanding of data architectures, databases, data lakes, data warehouses, and ETL processes.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and data tools (SQL, Python, Spark, Hadoop, etc.).
- Experience with data governance, data quality management, and compliance frameworks.
- Exposure to machine learning or AI-driven projects is a plus.
Project Management Skills:
- Proven track record of delivering large-scale data projects on time and within budget.
- Proficient in project management tools such as Jira, Trello, Asana, or MS Project.
- Expertise in Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Leadership and Communication:
- Excellent communication skills, able to translate complex technical details into clear business language.
- Strong leadership abilities with experience in managing cross-functional teams.
- Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Education and Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in project management, with at least 2-3 years focused on data-centric projects.
- PMP, Agile, or Scrum certification is preferred.
- Previous experience in industries like finance, healthcare, or technology where data management is critical would be a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
