Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist with a specialization in Generative AI to join our team. This role involves applying advanced machine learning and AI techniques to tackle real-world problems in healthcare, aiming to reduce costs and improve health quality and outcomes. The candidate will have access to both premise and cloud-based big data solutions and will work closely with a team of healthcare professionals to drive impactful projects.

Requirements

• Work with key stakeholders within Research and Development as well as Operations to assess the potential value and risks associated with business problems that can be solved using machine learning and AI.
• Develop exploratory data analysis approaches to verify initial hypotheses for AI/ML use cases.
• Document approaches, thinking, and results to facilitate collaboration with other data scientists.
• Prepare final trained models and develop validation test sets for quality assurance.
• Deploy models into production and support the monitoring of model performance.
• Collaborate with other data science teams to support their projects and contribute to knowledge sharing.
• Participate in design sessions to continuously develop and improve our machine learning platform.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of hands-on data science experience with tools such as pandas, scikit-learn, keras, nltk, TensorFlow/PyTorch.
• Proven experience in NLP and the use of transformers, fine-tuning LLMs, and deploying models with tools like Hugging Face.
• Experience in building production-grade machine learning deployments on platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience working with Apache Spark™ and large-scale distributed datasets.

Desired Skills:

• PhD with 2+ years or Master’s with 5+ years in data science ML experience.
• Experience communicating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Passion for collaborative problem solving and the ability to work within a matrixed organization.
