Our Mission, Vision and Values guide the way we do business.The Intelligence Operations Division is seeking a Data Scientist in McLean, VA to support an office focused on performing business analytics for a major IC customer. Candidate must have an active TS/SCI w/Poly Clearance.Primary Responsibilities:Assemble large, complex sets of data to meet functional and other requirementsBuild statistical models, test hypotheses, interpret, summarize, visualize, and succinctly report on data findingsBuild large language models to create classification algorithms, assess semantic similarity, and create summarization tools.Build requisite infrastructure for optimal extraction, transformation and loading of data from various sourcesPerform research on various data sources, to include unstructured data using quantitative and qualitative content analyticsConstruct and perform complex database search queries in multiple databases using SQL and API interfacesCurate and maintain data stored in support of metrics and evaluationDesign, build, test, maintain, and automate data collection/pipelines to optimize data delivery, and automate manual processesContribute to building new analytical tools and packages across the enterpriseCollaborate with team members in a highly technical environmentCollaborate with multiple stakeholders to drive data integration initiatives and foster a data-driven cultureAnalyze current data structure, tagging, and quality standards to discover and address anomaliesAnalyze current practices to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and contract requirementsLearn and leverage emerging technologies as they become available/accepted within the customer environmentBrief and interact with personnel at all levels of experience, including Senior OfficialsBasic Qualifications:Must currently possess n active TS/SCI w/Poly clearanceBachelor of Science Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or other relevant technical program, with 8+ years of experience (or 5 additional years of experience in lieu of degree)Skilled in data extraction and analysis from COTS productsExperience with data manipulation, analysis, analytic/business insight tools, and data visualizationExperience constructing and performing complex database search queriesExperience establishing/developing data pipelines and normalizing dataProficiency with programming (e.g. Python, R, SQL) and machine learning toolkitsAdvanced problem-solving skills for unstructured datasetsCapable of presenting technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiencesStrong organizational, time management, and omnidirectional communication abilitiesTechnical writing and critical readingExperience producing executive-level productsAbility to work efficiently on small, distributed teams​Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge of computer science concepts, data architecture, and statisticsExperience/familiarity with frequentist statistics and probability including predicative modelingFamiliarity with Intelligence Community organizations and dataOriginal Posting:April 24, 2025For U.S. Positions: While subject to change based on business needs, Leidos reasonably anticipates that this job requisition will remain open for at least 3 days with an anticipated close date of no earlier than 3 days after the original posting date as listed above.Pay Range:Pay Range $104,650.00 - $189,175.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
