Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Data Warehouse QA Lead with strong expertise in Snowflake, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), BigQuery, and data governance tools like Collibra. The ideal candidate will lead the quality assurance efforts for our data warehouse solutions, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and reliability of the data that drives business decisions. This role requires a deep understanding of data management, advanced querying skills, and the ability to implement and maintain QA best practices in a cloud environment.

Key Responsibilities:

QA Strategy & Leadership:

Develop and implement comprehensive QA strategies for data warehouse testing, including data validation, regression, integration, and performance testing.

Lead and mentor a team of QA engineers, providing guidance on best practices, testing methodologies, and tools.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (developers, data engineers, business analysts) to understand data requirements and ensure robust testing processes.

Data Warehouse Testing:

Design, execute, and maintain test cases, test scripts, and test data for Snowflake, BigQuery, and other data warehouse platforms.

Ensure end-to-end data quality by performing data validation, reconciliation, transformation, and functional testing across large data sets.

Perform ETL/ELT testing, verifying data extraction, transformation, and loading processes.

Automation & Tools:

Implement automation frameworks for testing data pipelines and data validation using industry-standard tools and custom solutions.

Ensure efficient test execution through automation and continuous integration (CI/CD) pipelines.

Leverage tools such as Collibra for data governance and metadata management to validate data consistency and lineage.

Cloud Data Platform Expertise:

Provide deep knowledge of cloud-based data platforms (GCP, Snowflake, BigQuery) to drive testing processes tailored for scalability and performance in the cloud.

Monitor data warehouse environments and assist with performance testing and optimization.

Collaboration & Communication:

Work closely with product owners, data engineers, and business users to validate requirements and ensure data quality.

Report defects, issues, and potential risks clearly to stakeholders, ensuring quick resolution and minimal impact to data-driven operations.

Documentation & Compliance:

Create and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, and test reports for audit and compliance purposes.

Ensure adherence to regulatory and compliance standards for data quality and data governance using tools like Collibra.

Ensure all data management activities follow internal policies and best practices for data privacy, security, and integrity.

Qualifications:

Experience:

7+ years of QA experience, with a strong focus on data warehouse testing.

3+ years of experience with Snowflake and GCP (BigQuery), including performance and integration testing.

Proven experience with ETL/ELT testing and understanding of data modeling concepts.

Experience with Collibra or similar data governance and metadata management tools.

Proven leadership experience managing QA teams in data-centric projects.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in SQL and advanced query optimization in platforms like Snowflake and BigQuery.

Familiarity with ETL/ELT processes and tools such as Informatica, Talend, or Apache Airflow.

Experience with QA automation tools like Selenium, PyTest, or custom data validation frameworks.

Familiarity with cloud environments and CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in Snowflake, Google Cloud (e.g., Google Cloud Certified Professional Data Engineer), or Collibra.
• Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Looker, or Power BI for data validation.
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
