Database Architect Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Architect with deep expertise in Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server to design, implement, and optimize enterprise-level database solutions. This role involves creating scalable, secure, and high-performing database architectures that align with business objectives and technical standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Database Build and Deploy Operations

• Automate database build, deployment, and rollback processes integrated with CI/CD pipelines.
• Define and implement robust deployment and rollback strategies for database changes.
• Create sanitized, lightweight databases for feature development environments.
• Establish version control practices for database scripts and maintain a clear, consistent source code repository structure.

• Database Architecture & Design:
  • Develop logical and physical data models for complex applications.
  • Design schemas, tables, indexes, and relationships for optimal performance.
  • Define data governance policies, standards, and best practices.
• Technology Strategy & Planning:
  • Create database architecture roadmap aligned with business goals.
  • Evaluate and recommend database technologies (Oracle RAC, SQL Server Always on, cloud solutions).
  • Plan for high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery.
• Performance & Optimization:
  • Design for query efficiency, indexing strategies, and storage optimization.
  • Collaborate with DBAs and developers for performance tuning.
• Integration & Security:
  • Define data integration strategies across systems and platforms.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards and regulatory requirements.
• Collaboration & Leadership:
  • Work closely with application architects, business analysts, and DBAs.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Technical Expertise:
  • Strong experience in Oracle 12c/19c and SQL Server 2016/2019 architecture.
  • Proficiency in data modelling, PL/SQL, T-SQL, and performance tuning.
  • Knowledge of ETL processes, data warehousing, and cloud databases (Azure SQL, Oracle Cloud).
• Additional Skills:
  • Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of high availability solutions (Oracle RAC, Always on Availability Groups).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience:
  • 10+ years of experience in database design and architecture.
