Job Description Job Title: Database Engineer Job Location: Reston VA Duration: 12 months + Responsibilities: • Research and specify the optimal database solution(s) and/or data-oriented solution(s) in support of key technologies integrations. • Design and develop the identified optimal database solution(s) and/or data-oriented solution(s). • Test and certify the implemented optimal database solution(s) and/or data-oriented solution(s). • Maintain source level control of all database schema or data definitions work product. • Troubleshoot and resolve all defects and incidents in a timely manner. Qualifications: SQL and NOSQL databases. Hierarchical, relational and object-oriented databases (Oracle, Microsoft, MongoDB, and Cassandra). Service-oriented architecture supported by and integrated with a database(s) and/or data-oriented solution(s). Application and database integration. Non-simplistic system architectures and designs. Experience working in a virtualized, cloud environment (OpenStack, KVM and supporting systems). Other qualifications: Excellent technical and scientific writing skills Highly skilled in creating technical diagrams, charts and visual presentations Ability to articulate complex details in an organized, comprehensible manner Education and experience: BS/MS in Computer Science or Information Technology, MS preferred Minimum of 8 years of proven, demonstrable work history Additional Information
