Database Engineer (Hybrid | Taguspark)We are currently looking for a Database Engineer to join a technical team focused on building and evolving high-scale SaaS platforms.If you are passionate about database performance, optimization, and high-load systems, this could be the right opportunity for you. Location: Taguspark, Portugal Work model: Hybrid (1 day per week in the office) What you will be doingDesign and evolve relational database schemas aligned with scalable SaaS architectures;Optimize complex SQL queries and analyze execution plans;Define and continuously improve indexing strategies;Diagnose performance bottlenecks, locks, and concurrency issues;Monitor and tune high-load transactional systems;Collaborate on CI/CD processes and database deployments;Support database environments running in cloud and Linux systems;Contribute to reliability strategies, backups, and disaster recovery. What we are looking forStrong experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including knowledge of the database engine;Advanced SQL expertise, with a focus on performance and optimization;Solid understanding of indexing strategies and execution plan analysis;Proven experience diagnosing and resolving production performance issues;Strong knowledge of transactions, concurrency, and isolation levels;Experience working with large datasets and high-load systems;Familiarity with databases running in Linux environments. Nice to haveExperience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Amazon Aurora;Knowledge of replication and read-replica strategies;Experience with AWS (RDS, Aurora, EC2);Familiarity with .NET Core / .NET Framework ecosystems;Experience with Entity Framework / EF Core and ORM optimization;Understanding of multi-tenant SaaS architectures;Experience with containerized database environments (Docker).
