Overview Lawncare Technician – Durham-Wake Forest, NC Join a leading commercial landscaping team in the Triangle region as a Lawncare Technician , specializing in turf and ornamental care , IPM practices , and grounds maintenance . This hands-on role supports both routine and seasonal landscape operations, including pest identification , chemical applications , flower installations , and snow removal . Technicians will communicate regularly with management and clients, maintain detailed application records, and promote safe, environmentally responsible practices . Key Skills & Responsibilities Integrated Pest Management (IPM) in turf and ornamental landscapes Application of herbicides, pesticides, and fertilizers per regulatory standards Equipment operation, chemical storage maintenance, and safety compliance Assist with enhancement projects and seasonal plant installations Client communication and support Maintain accurate pesticide application logs and site histories Ability to work independently and flexible shifts Preferred Experience & Traits Prior experience in commercial lawn care or landscape maintenance Knowledge of turfgrass science, pest identification, and treatment techniques NC Pesticide Applicator License preferred or willingness to obtain Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented Strong work ethic and safety mindset Compensation & Benefits Weekly salary starting at $850 and up based on experience Health, dental, and vision insurance (BCBS NC) Paid time off + 11 holidays 401(k) with company match Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a routine basis Ability to bend and stoop on a continual basis Ability to work outside in all weather conditions Ability to work around bees, poison ivy, pollen, thorns and other environmental risks Must be able to work with minimal supervision Must wear sturdy shoes, company uniforms, and assigned PPE Must present yourself in a professional, polite manner Must practice safety with chemicals and equipment Must wear company-provided eye and ear protection as required Must have valid NC Driver's license and maintain a good driving record (CDL preferred) Must be able to pass a criminal background check Must be willing to obtain NC Pesticide applicators license Must have good communication skills and ability to motivate others Must comply with Bland's policies and procedures Experience Must have 1+ years' experience in Horticultural Pest Management/IPM or the equivalent.
