Our direct client is currently looking for a Database/ Security System Administrator for their Headquarters located downtown Los Angeles, CA.
This assignment expectation is 6mos and may extend or converted to direct hire.
The work schedule is a hybrid schedule. Schedule: 7:00 am 4:45 pm Monday through Friday with alternating Fridays off. A minimum of 2 days a week you will be in the LA office.
Please note this position requires the successful completion of a background check, drug screen, and employment and education verification prior to starting work.
The successful candidate will support the Senior System Administrator reporting to the Database Team Manager. You will troubleshoot, monitor analysis, and documentation of systems and applications. In this capacity, you will set-up, maintain, manage, and administer Microsoft Windows including software installation, upgrade, and patches.
This position will support the management and maintenance of Microsoft SQL Server databases, websites, multi-tier applications, and Microsoft SharePoint applications/sites and will demonstrate technical expertise with Microsoft Windows server software starting with SQLServer Databases, Windows Server, Microsoft SharePoint, and Microsoft 115.
*In this position the System Administrator may assist Senior System Administrator with new projects and system or application implementation.
Relevant experience: Principles, practices, and procedures of Information Technology; systems analysis; application, and peripheral equipment; principles and practices of system testing, analysis, data management and integrity; hardware and software configuration; operational characteristics of various computer systems; system administration for related discipline; disaster recovery practices; and current office technology and equipment.
Database Administration Required Knowledge: Principles, practices, and procedures of database and web administration; principles, practices, and procedures of data management and application software; operational characteristics of server operating systems; and methods and techniques to develop, test, and implement database or web application systems.
Security Administration Required Knowledge: Separation of duties in supportiang creation of roles and responsibilities within applications and systems; directory or server interfaces for security levels; layered security methods; security methods for operating systems; security environments and requirements for applications; Network Security Monitoring and Incident Response operations; remediation methods; information technologies such as computer hardware and software, operating systems, and networking technologies; and concepts of computer forensics.
Database Administration Required Skills and Abilities: Monitor and optimize database and web systems; install, configure, and support database and web related software, upgrades, and patches; backup and recovery database and web related systems; and perform research and development in database and web technologies.
Security Administration Required Skills and Ability: Create roles in applications and systems using information security practices and standards; investigate and remediate cyber incidents; recommend configuration changes to improve security without degrading workflows; identify, analyze, remediate, and report on cyber security incidents.
Desired Experience:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and four years of relevant experience; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and two years of relevant experience.
- EXPERT KNOWLEDGE: MSOffice (PWPT and Excel).
- KNOWLEDGE IN: Large systems for design, analysis, test, and implementation; respond to system problems and administration; analyze requests and provide customer assistance for solutions.
- MUST HAVE: Principles, practices, and procedures of Information Technology; systems analysis; application, and peripheral equipment; principles and practices of system testing, analysis, data management and integrity; hardware and software configuration; operational characteristics of various computer systems; system administration for related discipline; disaster recovery practices; and current office technology and equipment.
- Maintain confidentiality for proprietary and personal information, Collaborator, Problem Solver, Multitask and handles pressure well.
- Detail orientation, Project Oriented, Negotiator, Organized, Strong Written and Verbal Communication skills are critical.
