Position Description Overview CGI Federal is looking for a Database Team Lead (Advanced Database Analyst/Programmer - Senior) to help support a program we are working on for the Army's PL ALTESS contract. PL ALTESS, or Product Lead for Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology Enterprise Systems and Services, is a key U.S. Army organization providing IT services and support to the Army and Department of Defense. As a managed service provider, ALTESS delivers infrastructure, platform, and application services across data centers and commercial clouds. It plays a crucial role in modernizing IT systems by migrating them to the cloud and managing mission‑critical applications to ensure Army readiness. ALTESS oversees IT service delivery across various hosting locations, aligning with Department of Defense digital transformation strategies as part of PEO Enterprise. Location USA VA Radford – USAVARAD1. Responsibilities Senior database administration experience deploying and managing databases supporting customer applications; responsible for all facets of engineering and administering database environments at PL ALTESS. Architect infrastructure, install and configure database software products and database configuration in Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL), PostgreSQL, MySQL, and cloud database environments. Maintain the database environments to meet availability and performance standards; assist in scheduling deployment activity and new installations. Develop security standards and ensure all databases meet ALTESS and Army security requirements. Develop and maintain database monitoring and administrative dashboards to ensure a proactive approach to database management. Apply Cyber Command Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), perform a Security Readiness Review (SRR), and document findings in a Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) document. Required Qualifications Experience in database administration and architecture. Five or more years of experience with application server architecture in a large enterprise environment. Knowledge of Oracle, MSSQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and cloud database environments is required. Knowledge of database administration responsibilities. Knowledge of Python and PowerShell is a plus. All positions require the ability to relate to customers in a professional manner. Have an active DoD Secret security clearance. Desired Qualifications / Non‑essential Skills Working knowledge of DoD STIGs and IAVM. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $113,400.00 - $223,200.00.
