Position Overview:

As a DB2 Applications DBA with z/OS experience, you will play a crucial role in the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of our client's DB2 databases, ensuring the highest levels of performance, availability, and security. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, application developers, and other IT professionals to support and enhance our database systems.

Responsibilities:

• Perform database administration tasks, including installation, configuration, and maintenance of DB2 databases on the z/OS platform.
• Collaborate with application development teams to design and implement efficient and scalable database solutions.
• Monitor and optimize database performance, addressing issues related to query optimization, indexing, and overall system efficiency.
• Ensure database security and integrity by implementing and maintaining appropriate access controls and backup/recovery procedures.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices, implementing new technologies and methodologies to enhance database operations.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience as a DB2 Applications Database Administrator with a focus on z/OS.
• Strong understanding of database design, implementation, and administration principles.
• Proficiency in SQL and database performance tuning.
• Candidate should have strong experience in designing and creating database objects such as tables, views, indexes and IBM CDC and Qrep replication setup.
• The candidate will provide the following support in DB2 z/OS (Database administration, production support, quality assurance, development) within OLTP and/or OLAP environments is required.
• The candidate must support Oncall schedule 7/24 team rotation supporting DB2 z/OS and limited Oracle support.
