Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Empower students as a dedicated educator for Deaf and Hard of Hearing learners in a contract, fully remote role serving a diverse elementary through high school caseload. This VOCO opportunity ensures dynamic involvement across a large district, allowing you to bring specialized support to 10-15 students innovatively through virtual technology.

Desired Background:

  • Current, active Tennessee Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (TDHH) license
  • Skilled in delivering instruction and accommodations to DHH students
  • Experience working with K-12 populations preferred, but motivated early-career professionals are encouraged
  • Proficient with virtual platforms and committed to engaging, accessible distance education
  • Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instructional services to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students (elementary to high school) via a remote, district-wide assignment
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with general education staff, families, and service teams
  • Tailor lessons for various learning styles and communication needs, ensuring inclusive practices
  • Maintain consistent communication with families and multidisciplinary teams to foster supportive learning environments
  • Deliver accurate student progress reports and maintain up-to-date records in accordance with district requirements
  • Participate in school meetings and professional development as needed

This contract, full-time position offers competitive pay commensurate with experience. You'll work 7.5 hours per day, five days a week, during the upcoming school year.
