Delivery Driver Apply
Role
Reporting to the Area Manager, the Truck Driver is responsible to operate and drive truck with three or more axles to transport material to and from job site. The Truck Driver is also responsible for reporting any maintenance issues to the Fleet Manager. Under this role the Truck Driver is also responsible to conduct pre and post-trip inspection and ensure that the mandatory paperwork, including CVIP, is current at all times.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of a vehicle, including loading and unloading of goods & material, and safety and security of cargo
- Perform pre and post trip inspection and communicate issues and concerns to the Area and Fleet Manager
- Must understand the basics of motor vehicle mechanics, maintenance and servicing, and be able to perform emergency roadside repairs, if needed
- Ensure that cargo information, distance travelled, fuel consumption and other relevant information is recorded in the log book
- Ensure all required special permits, and other documents to transport cargo, are obtained
- Ensure goods and materials are delivered to job site on-time, and communicate with the Site Supervisor if there’s a delay
- Ensure proper safety procedures are followed when loading/un-loading materials and goods
Requirements
- High School diploma required
- Class 3 license required with an acceptable driving record
- Class 1 license preferred
- Air breaks endorsement an asset
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) certification preferred
- Rigging Training Certification and Boom Truck Safety certification preferred
- Successfully completing an Alcohol & Drug Testing is a requirement for this job
