Full job description

The Village of Eagle is looking for a full-time Department of Public Works employee. This position will cover all aspects of the Department of Public Works for the village including sub departments of streets, parks, and water. The DPW employees for the Village of Eagle are not divided into specific categories, all employees are expected to cover all aspects of the Department of Public Works for the Village of Eagle.

The position would be a 40 hour work week, schedule would be Monday thru Friday with in person work. There will be some required overtime for tasks such as well checks on weekends, plowing during off work hours, and assisting with water main breaks to name a few examples.

Typical work shall include lawn care of village owned property, maintaining village equipment, monitoring and servicing the villages water system, water meter reading and replacements, snow plowing, and reports for other entities such as the DNR and the villages auditors. Qualified applicants shall:

Have a high school diploma or GED

Effective oral and written communication skills

Active listening skills

Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively

Be able to prioritize work tasks

Be able to multi-task

Be able to interact with residents in a professional manner

Be able to lift up to 50 pounds,

Be able to sit at a desk/in a vehicle for an extended time period, stand on their feet for an extended time period,

Be proficient with operating a computer

Be able to work both independently, as well as with others as a team

Maintain DNR Water licensing

Obtain a CDL (if applicant doesnt already have one), and work well with others.

This position is full time, and will offer the following benefits:
