Job SummaryThe General Manager will oversee the overall operations, project delivery, and financial performance of the construction business unit specializing in horizontal construction projects (roads, land development, utilities, and site development). The role is responsible for managing client relationships, ensuring successful project execution, driving business growth, and maintaining profitability. The General Manager will lead cross-functional teams and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to quality and safety standards.Key ResponsibilitiesOperational LeadershipOversee the end-to-end delivery of horizontal construction projects including roads, land development, drainage systems, utilities, and site infrastructure.Lead project teams including Project Managers, Engineers, QS, and Site Supervisors to ensure efficient project execution.Establish operational strategies to improve productivity, cost control, and project delivery performance.Ensure compliance with company standards, safety regulations, and construction best practices.Client & Stakeholder ManagementServe as the primary liaison with developers, clients, and key stakeholders.Manage contracts, project negotiations, and client expectations.Maintain strong relationships with major developers and institutional clients.Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and repeat business.Financial Management (P&L)Take full responsibility for the Profit and Loss (P&L) of the construction operations.Manage project budgets, cost controls, financial forecasting, and margin performance.Monitor financial performance across projects to ensure profitability.Identify cost-saving opportunities and operational efficiencies.Business DevelopmentSupport the acquisition of new construction projects and strategic partnerships.Identify opportunities with developers, infrastructure projects, and government contracts.Participate in bid reviews, project feasibility, and contract negotiations.Project Governance & QualityEnsure projects are delivered according to timeline, budget, and quality standards.Oversee risk management, project scheduling, and resource planning.Implement strong quality assurance and safety programs.Leadership & Team ManagementProvide leadership and direction to project teams and department heads.Develop a high-performing construction management team.Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and operational excellence.QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.15+ years of experience in construction, with significant experience in horizontal development projects.At least 5–8 years in senior leadership or operations management roles.Experience working with developers or third-party construction service providers.Strong background in project management, financial management (P&L), and client relations
