Design Consultant Floor & Decor is seeking a Design Consultant to provide expert design support to customers in the showroom. Base Pay This role has a minimum base pay of $15.00 per hour with higher starting pay available based on experience. Purpose The Design Consultant is the entry point into design and is responsible for engaging customers on the sales floor, supporting their design projects, and conducting design appointments to determine design needs in the selection of tile, wood, stone, and accessory products. The Design Consultant will partner with store leaders to maximize sales goals and expand the design services brand. Minimum Eligibility Requirements 1+ years of retail/customer service experience High school diploma or GED Proficient in basic mathematical skills Must be self‑motivated and able to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite Internal candidates: minimum 6 months with Floor & Decor Essential Functions Greet store customers in a helpful manner and support design walk‑in needs. Schedule design appointments for existing and potential customers, building clientele through networking and referrals. Provide tile, wood, stone and accessory advice to homeowners, interior designers, and builders for residential and commercial projects. Design and sell complete, functional and aesthetically appealing solutions. Manage multiple, simultaneous customer projects through all phases with accuracy, timeliness and consistent follow‑up, using company communication tools and email. Collaborate with store leadership and employees to manage projects from inquiry to installation and meet sales and other goals. Support company initiatives by modeling and coaching best practices with store employees. Use design applications such as Salesforce, proprietary online design appointment scheduler, and MyProject. Perform other duties as assigned. Working Conditions (travel, hours, environment) Limited travel may be required by car. Frequent exposure to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles; noise level typically moderate to noisy. Physical/Sensory Requirements Medium work – ability to exert 20–50 pounds of force occasionally, 10–25 pounds frequently, or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds continuously; lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, handling, standing, walking, reaching, climbing, or stooping as needed.
