Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Design Engineer to support our team through a high-volume workload. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who is comfortable moving quickly between detailing, design, modeling, and analysis in a fast-paced industrial environment. This is a 3-4 month contract and the work has to be done onsite.

Responsibilities

* Design, model, and detail mechanical components and assemblies using Autodesk Inventor

* Create accurate drawings for fabrication and manufacturing

* Perform engineering calculations and finite element analysis (FEA) using Inventor

* Support existing projects by updating and correcting designs, fixing parts, and improving legacy models

* Design components and systems related to steel mill equipment, material handling systems, and process lines

* Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and project teams to meet tight schedules

* Ensure designs meet applicable codes, standards, and safety requirements

Qualifications

* Proven experience as a Design Engineer in an industrial or heavy manufacturing environment

* Strong proficiency with Inventor (modeling, detailing, drawings, and FEA)

* Prior experience working with steel mills, material handling equipment, or process line equipment

* Ability to perform basic to intermediate engineering calculations

* Experience with equipment detailing, redesigns, and modifications

* Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities

* Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
