Our Client a leading manufacture of  electronic connectors has an immediate for a Product Design Engineer to be responsible for the Design & development of new products, technologies and processes for electro-mechanical connector devices and wire harness assemblies that meet and exceed customer performance requirements, cost objectives and program schedule requirements.

Technical Job Functions:

·        Connector elements design, development and processing skills:

• • Contact beam design and alloy choice knowledge.
  • Connector insulator plastic design skills and materials knowledge.
  • Effectively influence best processing and assembly methods.
  • In depth understanding of plating chemistries used in civil and military applications.
• Proficient in using 3D solid modeling and ability to generate 2D CAD detailed drawings.
• Basic knowledge and understanding of mechanical Finite Element Analysis methods (FEA).
• Skilled in GD&T and in tolerance analysis.
• Basic knowledge of connector electrical function and high-speed signal propagation physics.
• Ability to hold design team meetings, design reviews and to communicate and follow up on meetings action items.
• Strong technical report writing skills.
• Experience in creating, updating and maintaining project schedules.
• In depth understanding of connectors’ qualification test standards.
• Effectively interacts with Marketing, Manufacturing and Customers.
• Support and maintain trade compliance.
• Make daily decisions relating to new product programs and product improvements efforts.
• Experience in authoring product qualification testing, supervising the testing, and in writing summary test reports.

Basic Qualifications

·        Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education               and experience.·                                                                                                                                                                                                    2 + years of experience in design of Electronic connectors..                                                                                                                                  Understanding of Stamping, Injection Molding and small part assembly process.                                                                                                  Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
